Alle - Vresse Route: 7 km of calm kayaking on the Semois
The kayak route between Alle-sur-Semois and Vresse-sur-Semois is perfect for beginners and families with young children. This short, 7 km journey is also ideal if your time is limited, yet you want to enjoy an outdoor activity in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes.
Paddle at your own pace for approximately 1 to 2 hours, and discover unspoiled nature and tranquil surroundings. This gentle route offers calming, typical Ardennes landscapes, including charming points of interest like the picturesque footbridge (“pont de claies”) at Vresse-sur-Semois (see photo).
Depart directly from Kayaks La Vanne’s base in Alle-sur-Semois, between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM in summer (see detailed schedules below). Upon arrival in Vresse, simply give us a call, and our shuttle bus will come pick you up and bring you back to our base.
This accessible and relaxing route is an ideal way to experience the Semois by kayak with family or friends while admiring the Ardennes’ natural beauty.

For the Alle – Vresse route, it’s important to first come to Kayaks La Vanne, located at:
Rue Léon Henrard, 10 – 5550 Alle-sur-Semois (Belgique).
From our base, you’ll immediately begin your kayak descent towards Vresse-sur-Semois. This easy 7 km trip allows you to paddle at your own rhythm, enjoying the stunning natural scenery along the Semois valley.
Upon arrival in Vresse, you have two options:
- Return by bus: Call us upon arrival, and we will pick you up and drive you back to our base.
- Return on foot: For hiking enthusiasts, a pleasant forest walk allows you to return to Alle, extending your experience in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes.
This route is ideal for families and beginners looking for a serene and memorable river experience.
